Pink Prom IV: May the Fourth Be With You
The Fourth Annual Benefit Dance for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and WomenCARE.
Pink Prom is a wonderful opportunity get gussied up and dance the night away, and all while raising money for breast cancer research, treatment, and support services. The event includes a silent auction and raffle, contest for prom king and queen, and a photo booth manned by yours truly!

We have been privileged enough to share in many of Dan and Mandy’s life adventures. Imagine our excitement when they asked us for the following two photos to celebrate the upcoming birth of their first child! Congrats, Dan and Mandy! We can’t wait for your duo to become a trio!
Family portraits are about so much more than pictures. They are about glimpses into everyday life and the bonds that tie us to one another. Each family unit is unique, and so too are the moments that we, the photographers, are privileged enough to document. As their family grows and changes, Kyle, Maya, and Devin will be able to revisit the quiet (and the not so quiet) moments shared between them one beautiful spring morning at Quail Hollow Ranch.
The Sawyers are great lovers of flora and fauna. Springtime provides Josh with an abundance of vibrant blooms and lively creatures to photograph, while Stephanie enjoys any excuse to, as Josh puts it, “play in the dirt.” We hope you are enjoying the changing season as much as we are!
We had no idea what a treat we were in for when Claire contacted us looking to have some studio portraits taken for her portfolio. As soon as she got in front of the camera we knew she was a natural talent! Keep an eye out for this fresh face! She has a promising career ahead of her!
of TWO lovely ladies, Diana and Megan! Sisters so alike you’d think they were twins! Their collective minds had the same stroke of genius when they decided to surprise their parents, Lyle and Marie, with a family photo shoot at beautiful Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz. Diana’s husband, Noah, even came along for the fun! As you can probably tell from the photos, we had A LOT of fun!
Hello? Oh it is you, February. Didn’t see you sneak up on us there! It has been an exceptionally busy couple of months for the Sawyers and time has been flying by! Luckily, busy for Josh and Stephanie can usually be defined as “engaging in enriching excursions with a hint of frivolity.” Frivolity was certainly had when we met up with Ty, Alysse, and their wonderful children at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Vasona’s scenic landscape and many unique features made this family photo shoot into a glorious fun filled afternoon at the park. Be it tree, bench, bridge, or rock, there was no location that this fearless family would not conquer, and we got the shots to prove it! All in all, work was once again combined with pleasure.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium is nothing short of spectacular. The vast array of wildlife on display never fail to inspire or educate the thousands of people who walk through the aquarium doors each year. The aquarium’s vigilance to ocean conservation through education ensures that we remember how our decisions affect the world that we share with these magnificent creatures. Or as Terry Tempest Williams put it, “Wilderness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.”
You’d think that by living in beautiful Santa Cruz, California the Sawyers would have had their fill of the beach. Not so! We are gluttons for long stretches of white sand, the gentle crashing of aqua waves on the shore, and the taste of salt hanging in the breeze. It was no wonder then that for our belated honeymoon we decided to spend two weeks in exquisite Hawaii. Week one was spent on the quite north shore of Kaua’i in the little town of Ha’ena. This was the perfect place to get away from it all, but still have the comforts of home. A little studio cottage across the street from a deserted beach was all that we required. Week two found us back in our favorite Hawaiian town, Lanikai, Oahu. Lanikai is a Hawaiian version of Santa Cruz: beautiful beaches, locally owned stores, friendly people and a whole lot of charm. As always, we had a great time and can hardly wait to go back. Until then, we have our pictures remember our adventures by!
